Two Long Island Men Nabbed For Burglary, Police Say

Two Long Island men were nabbed after police responded to a call for an alleged burglary in progress.

The incident took place in Riverhead at 625 East Main St., around 8 a.m. on Thursday, April 14.

When officers arrived on the scene they located and detained Shareem Giles, age 51, and Saquan Blount, age 23, both of Riverhead after they attempted to flee, said Riverhead Police.

Both men were charged with burglary and held for arraignment.

At this time the burglary is considered to be an isolated incident, police said.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed or has information regarding the incident to contact the Riverhead Police Department Detective Division at 631-727-4500.
